In a green Haute Couture gown by Georges Hobeika and emanating such luxe charisma, with classic makeup style in the movie premiere event of “La Fille Inconnue” by director Jean Pierre, Ly Nha Ky was not only considered as the “best dressed” but also invited by the Gala magazine to capture moments on red carpet and being complimented as “the charming lady”. This image of “the charming lady” of Ly Nha Ky appeared with many world celebrities in this edition.
Appearing on the magazine besides other big names of the world, in the outfit that stirred up fashionistas in the battle of Cannes red carpet fashion, Ly Nha Ky was very proud when Vietnam name was honored as “Vietnam in the spotlight”. Ly Nha Ky shared that her effort of making Vietnamese image being recognized on red carpet of the world’s most reputable event has come true. This is also the 1st time a representative of Vietnam image appearing on a magazine during Film Festival period ever since, like a new mark for Vietnamese appearance in the Film Festival.

Together with her image, Ly Nha Ky was introduced honorably about herself, the Gala magazine stated: “Gorgeous Vietnamese actress, model and businesswoman Lý Nhã Kỳ caused a sensatioin at her red-carpet appearance for the Dardenne brothers’ latest movie, The Unknown Girl. She has been her country’s tourism ambassador since 2011 and happens to support the Cinefondation, promoting new generations of filmmakers. A worthy diplomatic alliance favoring the silver screen.
Gala magazine was established since 1993 and featuring news about significant figures from entertainment, fashion to society and targets women. The magazine is published in many languages and has a considerable position in France newspapers. Throughout the Film Festival, the magazine especially publishes every day to honor typical images of the event together with impressive and beautiful images of stars walking red carpet.
In Cannes Film Festival, Gala is the magazine that almost every star and gust of the Film Festival expects their images to be featured for once on the magazine. The reason is appearance on this magazine is the most precise judgment about certain impression marked on red carpet which have gone through extremely harsh selection by veteran fashion experts. In order to execute this shooting, Ly Nha Ky was directed carefully by a red carpet coordinator and a magazine editor throughout her walk on red carpet. The coordinator was to temporarily cease people walking behind Ly Nha Ky for a while so photographers could quickly capture her moments perfectly.
On Cannes red carpet, the coordinator personnel have responsibility of managing guests and assuring their walking timing on redcarpet, and especially “take care” for top stars whose names are called on red carpet or important guests doing special missions for the organization department, similarly as photo shooting of Gala magazine. Those are invited to be take pictures for the magazine like Ly Nha Ky will be taken care more thoughtfully. However due a large number of guests and stars on red carpet, although being favored to allow to walk on red carpet a bit longer, they have to pose as quick as possible to avoid blocking those people walking behind them.
For pictures that need roomy space to throw the look all over red carpet, stars have to arrive very early by starting of red carpet to take pictures. Ly Nha Ky was praised by the Gala magazine editor that she brought many inspirations for photographers and being extremely professionally posing very quickly with snobbish manner which is very suitable to her evening gown. Also the editor said that this dress was seemingly made just to fit for Ly Nha Ky’s beauty.
