On the threshold of Cannes Film Festival 2016, the Former Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam was officially selected to become 1 of 2 individual sponsors for the Cinéfondation, Cannes Film Festival.
The Cinéfondation simultaneously is one of main category awards of Cannes Film Festival, dedicating for new film talents. Recently Ly Nha Ky’s name appeared on the website of Cannes, in the section of Cinéfondation.
Ly Nha Ky claimed that new movie talents are the true face of movie industry in the near future. They always need appropriate and timely motivation and concern for their talent to be nurtured more and more and soon to become big ones.
Ly Nha Ky hoped that her new activity will bring trust for Vietnamese film makers stepping out to the world
The Former Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam hoped that her sponsor for the Cinéfondation of Cannes will create more hope and trust for Vietnamese film makers in the journey out to the world.
The actress also revealed that she will maintain the sponsor for the Cinéfondation until end of 2017. Her appearance is considered as a part of the Cinéfondation at Cannes Film Festival which will contribute an important part to have the name of Vietnam get more attention in this world’s top movie event.
Ly Nha Ky cancelled attending Cannes Opening Ceremony at last minute
Accordingly to early information, Ly Nha Ky would attend the Opening Ceremony of Cannes Film Festival in France on 11th May, however at last minute the Former Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam had cancelled this trip because her business operation in Vietnam needed her presence.
This information had many spectators surprised because the “Cold Summer” actress is also the main sponsor of the Cinéfondation – one of main category award of Cannes Film Festival, focusing on movies of new talents. Hence her appearance at the Opening Ceremony is very essential and also to serve the purpose of promoting about Vietnamese movies like the actress’s desire.

Media representative of the actress explained that the she would be going to France to attend Cannes Film Festival in the evening of 13th May. She could not join in the Opening Ceremony due to business schedule.

After missing the Opening Ceremony of Cannes Film Festival 2016, Ly Nha Ky took flight to France in the evening of 13th May to be timely present on red carpet of the world’s largest movie event on 14th May.
