The new Romanian Consulate in ho Chi Minh will enjoy the lead of Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Nhan as the newly appointed Honorary Consul. In the ceremony, Mr. Valeriu Arteni – Romanian Ambassador in Viet Nam shared that the Ho Chi Minh City consulate was opened during the 100th anniversary of Romania, and 60 years of diplomatic friendship with Viet Nam.

He also emphasized that for the past 68 years, Viet Nam and Romania has co-operated and achieved together a number of successes, but we must put in more effort as desired by both governments including increasing the presence of diplomatic representatives in both countries. This served the purpose of enhancing and tightening the tie between the two friendly nations.
From Romania, Mr. Teodor Meleșcanu – chief of the Foreign Affair Department also personally sent a letter of congratulation to the Honorary Consul in Viet Nam. “To have Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Nhan (better known as Ly Nha Ky) to be Honorary Consul of Romania in Ho Chi Minh City is accounted for great importance to Romanian purpose of strengthening the relationship with Viet Nam, especially in commerce and economy. Ms. Nhan has remarkably expressed her desire to contribute to the cooperation of Viet Nam and Romanian. Romanian diplomatic officials highly appreciate Ms. Nhan devoting effort. With our complete trust in her ability as a businesswoman and the former Viet Nam Tourism Ambassador, we strongly looking forward to her fulfilling the work as the Romanian Honorary Ambassador, making great contribution to enhancing and tightening the relationship between two countries. We believed that with her experiences, credentials, and her business vision would boast many co-operation opportunities for both countries. In the current situation, I would like to emphasize once again our sole purpose to promote Romanian and Vietnam mutual economy, with great support from Ms. Nhan. Last but not least, I would like comment on the successes of Ms. Nhan appointment to be our Honorary Consul during the same time with an ongoing conference between Bucharest and Ho Chi Minh City, another diplomatic event to strengthen our friendship.”
Previously in May 30th, the representative of Vietnamese Foreign Affairs Department – Mr Nguyen Minh Vu – Assistant to Chief of the department, and Chief of Consular Department has granted Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Nhan ( Ly Nha Ky) the official acknowledgement document as the Honorary Consul in ho Chi Minh. Such appointment was conduct upon mutual agreements and desire from both Romania and Viet Nam.
The appointment of Ms. Ly Nha Ky to be Romanian Honorary Consul in Ho Chi Minh was established strictly according to the Embassy Agreement between Viet Nam and Romania.
