The Former Tourism Ambassador was officially selected to become 1 of 2 individual sponsors for the Cinéfondation organization, which is one major part of Cannes Film Festival.
Ly Nha Ky’s name appeared on the official website of Cannes Film Festival 2016 in the section of Sponsors together with her best friend Lebanese billionaire – Mouna Ayoub. Accordingly the Former Tourism Ambassador sponsored for the Cinéfondation belonging to one of the major part of Cannes Film Festival, focusing on movies of new talents.

The Cinéfondation organization was established by Sir Pierre Viot and Gilles Jacob. Both are Former President of Cannes Film Festival. Sir Viot is the very first President of the Cinéfondation organization, after that Sir Jacob is in charge of this position until now. The Cinéfondation was established since 1998 from the zeal of Head of Cannes Film Festival, with the desire to continuously seeking for new talents to nurture them and contribute to educate big names of world movie industry.
Every year the Cinéfondation selects 15 to 20 short and medium-length films from film schools all over the world for competition. The prize will be awarded to the best three at an official ceremony of Cannes Film Festival. This year there are 18 films selected from 2,300 films applied, among which there is more than half films made by female directors. The Japanese director – Naomi Kawase – is also the head jury of the Cinéfondation this year.

This May Ly Nha Ky will go to Cannes and attend most of primary activities of the Film Festival. This movie event will take place from 11th until 22nd of May. The latest movie of Woody Allen director - Café Society – will be premiered in the Opening night of 11th May.
