E-book is currently in the shooting process, and is expected to be finished by this Christmas. With the movie being in production, information about the cost and storyline is now a complete secret to the public. The final product will be presented at many international Film festivals around the world in 2018. This is definitely a milestone in Ly Nha Ky’s career.

Through out her three times appearing in France for Cannes Film Festival, Ly Nha Ky has always been looking for a chance to invest and promote her native country film industry as well as tourism. In 2017, Director Olivier Assayas and producer Charles Gillibert were introduced to Ly Nha Ky as a Vietnamese Tourism Sponsor and Representative through the promotional panels just across the red carpet.

With her first time being producer for a movie, Ly Nha Ky decided not to play any role in the movie, and declared that she won’t be having any unreasonable request to the director: “This is a movie with a French storyline, also scripted by French. I have so much respect for their perspective and creativity, therefore I could not use my position as a producer to have influence on the team. After this project, I promise to be back in acting as my gratitude to all my fans. After seven years away from the acting business, I terribly miss being in front of the camera. But I want a more professional and more prepared come back.”

The main character will be played by the gorgeous and talented Juliette Binoche – who did work with director Olivier Assayas in “Clouds of Sils Maria” – a movie nominated for the Golden Palm of 2014. Juliette Binoche is famously known in Vietnam from “The English Patient,” the movie that brought her an Academy Award for Best supporting Actress. The other main character will be played by Guillaume Canet, husband to the French rose Marion Cotillard.  Guillaume himself is also a director and actor, he won the title Best Director (the Cesar Award) for the movie “Ne le dis à personne”, and Best Lead Actor (the Cesar Award) for “La Prochaine fois je viseral le coeur by Cesdric Anger”.

Sitting in the director chair is Olivier Assayas, a director, screenwriter and film critic, as well as the former husband of super star Maggie Cheung. His career was marked with 5 movies nominated for the Golden Palm of Cannes 2000, 2002, 2004, 2015, and 2016. Among them was Après Mai (Best Original Screenplay in Venice Film Festival 2012), Sils Maria  (running for Best Director and Best Screenplay in Cannes 2015). His newest movie “Personal Shopper”, released in Viet Nam as “Tro Ly Thoi Trang”, had brought him the title of Best Director in Cannes 2016.

For the producer Charles Gillibert, he is considered as one of the most powerful producers in Europe. One of his most successful works is the movie Mustang, nominated for an Oscar of “Best Foreign Film”, and won 4 titles in the Cesars Award in France.
