Angel Face, the highly anticipated movie co-produced by Ly Nha Ky, closes its premiere show at Cannes 2018 with extended ovation.
May 12th French time, Angel Face, starring the Oscar Winning actress Marion Cotillard and co-produced by Ly Nha Ky has made its debut show at Cannes Film Festival 2018.
In a brief interview at the end of the special night, Ly Nha Ky was much overwhelmed with joy: “After the movie ended, everyone stood up and gave us a standing ovation for more than 10 minutes. To me, the moment was magical.”

And the star of the show, Marion Cotillard could not hold her happiness: “I am honored to play the main character in this movie, it is a character with depth and a darker side. And it is a wonderful thing to have a female producer, who especially came from Viet Nam, joining our team.” Marion also expressed her wonderful surprise upon hearing that Ly Nha Ky also produced the movie E-book, starring Marion’s husband.
Angel face portraits a story of a single troubled mother Marlene and her 8-year-old daughter Eli in a small French town. Their struggles through life was pushed to limit when the mother follow a man, leaving behind her child. The young and innocent Eli is forced to venture through this depressing situation and hopelessly fight back her mother’s love.
With the Oscar winning actress Marion Cotillard playing the lead role, the movie successfully evokes many sentiments for the audience. On top of that, the excellent young talent Ayline Aksoy-Etaix accomplished a much bigger role than her real life age, and shined through some of the most demanding scene from the movie.
