Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Director of International Cooperation said thathe will propose to the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to discuss with councils about invitingLy Nha Ky to continue the position of Vietnam Tourism Ambassador.
On 29th May, International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a press meeting to collect comments of draft Regulation that mentioned about the appointment, dismissal, standards, activities, rights obligations and responsibilities of Vietnam Tourism Ambassador.
At the press meeting , Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan emphasized the decline of international tourist after the tense situation in the East Sea".The goal of this year is to attract 8.3 million tourists to Vietnam from now until the end of the year but now we do not have much time anymore. To boost the tourism in the country, in addition to promote tourist attraction and guarantee the safety for visitors, the selection of Vietnam tourism ambassador this time is also essential", deputy Ho Anh Tuan said.
Deputy Minister Ho Anh Tuan affirmed, Ly Nha Ky had good tenure of her Tourism Ambassadors.
According to the draft regulation, Vietnam Tourism Ambassador must be Vietnam’s citizen and a patriotic, strong political stance, good moral character, healthy lifestyle, have a positive impact on society. Who undertakes this title must have a high level of expertise in his field of activity, there is a positive contribution to social progress, who is knowledgeable about the history, culture and tourism in Vietnam. According to this draft, the maximum term of Vietnam Tourism Ambassador takes 3 years.
With many questions "swirling" around the detail: "Unlimited the number of Vietnam Tourism Ambassadors", Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Director of International Cooperation frankly expressed: "We should not only have one Tourism Ambassadors. Depending on your needs, each Tourism Ambassador for each area is essential". Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh take out a few examples that Korean has some Tourism Ambassadors, among them singer My Linh was also the Korean Tourism Ambassador in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh also recieved the opinion: With the Tourism Ambassador who is ineligible health, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will decide to dismiss, and in case of violating the provisions of law, will be deprived the title of Tourism Ambassador.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh revealed that after receiving the comments from the press, the Department of International Cooperation will select Tourism Ambassadors after adopted by the councils in 2 weeks.
By playing Tourism Ambassador role, on May 12/2012, Ly Nha Ky had a business trip to South Africa to attend the ceremony of receiving the symbol of New 7 Wonder organization for the famous scene: Table Mountain. She had made a nice impression with the children here.
Answering the reporter's question about the information that former Ambassador Ly Nha Ky will return as Viet Nam Tourism Ambassador if receiving an invitation from the Department of International Cooperation? Nguyen Van Tinh said that not only the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture and Leadership, Sport and Tourism but the audiences also do, all of them would like to Ly Nha Ky still keep the position of Ambassador of Tourism.
"At the meeting with the candidate Tourism Ambassador at the International Tourism Fair of Vietnam on June 4 in Hanoi recently, some audiences had also questioned Ly Nha Ky if she’d like to continue to University Tourism ministry. We also would like to her to continue assuming this position. Looking ahead we will recommend to the Bureau leaders, giving discussion to the councils about inviting her to continue undertaking the next term“, Nguyen Van Tinh revealed.
He also said that the Bureau leaders would love to have new faces assumed the role Tourism Ambassadors present but no one has enough experience and many favorable factors such as Ly Nha Ky. Although not assuming the title of Tourism Ambassador, Ly Nha Ky still has done a very good variety of activities to promote culture and tourism in Vietnam.
Talking to reporters after meeting, Tran Nhat Hoang - Director, Centre for the Promotion of Sports, Culture and Tourism agrees with the dicision of inviting Ly Nha Ky to return as Viet Nam Tourism Ambassador.
"Ly Nha Ky has extensive and wide relationships, has helped a lot for the promotional activities of the Department of International Cooperation. She has acted and showed as a character stature, dignified, beautiful woman. I have just received the good response from international friends for Ly Nha Ky. As she went to South Africa, South African newspapers also posted that Ly Nha Ky has created beautiful and friendly images with children here”.
Earlier, Deputy Minister Ho Anh Tuan also said, " Ly Nha Ky did completely well her tenure!"
