May 12th, Ly Nha Ky and the team of Angel Face, the movie she co-produced and starring Oscar Winning actress Marion Cotillard, received overwhelming love and support from fans at its primier.
As a co-producer of Angel Face, Ly Nha Ky was welcomed with much love and support from international fans at the debut show at Cannes. Her movie depicts a moving storing of a single mother Marlene and daughter Elli in a small French town. When the much-troubled guardian left for a man, the innocent child was force on a journey to fight back her maternal love.
According to lucky fans at the premiere, this is one of only a number of films since the start of this year festivals that successfully brought tears to their eyes. The maternal love portraited in the films really touched many souls at the theaters, even able melt the hardest mindset. The movie provides a different view on the classic mother daughter relationship, as well as human connection at its purest level.

this piece of art by designer Do Long truly let Ly Nha Ky shine walking down the evening red carpet.
And the star of the show, Marion Cotillard could not hold her happiness: “I am honored to play the main character in this movie, it is a character with depth and a darker side. And it is a wonderful thing to have a female producer, who especially came from Viet Nam, joining our team. I was so surprised upon hearing that Ly Nha Ky also produced the movie E-book starring my husband.”
Ly Nha Ky shared: “During the standing ovation, when I saw the tears streaming down Marion Cotillard face, as well as director Vanessa Filho, the young Ayline Aksoy-Etaix, and the entire team reduced into hugs and kisses, I knew that I must continue to find new projects that deliver touching and meaningful messages in the future”. In a brief interview at the end of the special night, Ly Nha Ky was much overwhelmed with joy: “After the movie ended, everyone stood up and gave us a standing ovation for more than 10 minutes. To me, the moment was magical. Usually, my name is up there as an artist, but today with my new role, I have a strange but great sense of accomplishment being the woman behind the scene, but I helped the entire team marching to this day.”
Not a while back, when it was first confirmed that Angel Face, the proudly movie produced by Ly Nha Ky, was nominated for “Un Certain Regard” award at Cannes 2018, Ly Nha Ky received many positive comments from the critics for her noticeable debut in this tough competition.
