  • Romania opens consulate and welcome Vietnamese Honorary Consul

    June 26th, 2018 marked the opening of Romanian Consulate Office in Ho Chi Minh City, and the announcement of Mrs. Tran Thi Thanh Nhan (Ly Nha Ky) to be Honorary Consul.

    Mr. Valeriu Arteni – the Romanian Ambassador affirmed his faith in Ly Nha Ky as the Honorary Consul.

     

    These great diplomatic events took place simultaneously with Bucharest and Ho Chi Minh city’s ongoing conference aiming to enhance the tie between two cities, marking a profound milestone in the relationship between Romania and Vietnam.

     

    It was a formal and heartwarming ceremony with the presences of Romanian Ambassador Valeriu Arteni, Director of HCM Foreign Affair Le Quang Long, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Ambassadors, Honorary Consuls, and Consulate members in Ho Chi Minh City from Russia, Germany, United States of America, Korea,  and Italian Trade Consul and Trade Promotion Department, Italian Consulate, European Trade department in Viet Nam, Singapore Business Group, as well as France Trade and Industry Department in Viet Nam.

     

    On the occasion, Romanian Ambassador also expressed his thanks to the government of Viet Nam, Viet Nam Department of Foreign Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee for relentless support to Romanian Consulate as well as to the Romanian Honorary Consul. “The new Honorary Consul of Romania, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Nhan will be supported ardently to fulfill her mission of strengthening and tightening the relationship and diplomatic tie between Romania and Viet Nam, especially Ho Chi Minh City,” he remarked.

     

    Mr. Le Quang Long, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Affairs Office emphasized: “HCMC Foreign Affairs Office will be supporting and promoting all diplomatic activities of the Romanian Consulate, enhancing relationship and cooperation between the two nations as well as with Ho Chi Minh City.”

    Ms. Tranh Thi Thanh Nhan, the newly appointed Romanian Honorary Consul could not hold her thrill: “It has been such an enormous honor for myself, and a great responsibility that I am determined to fulfill my role to enhance the tie between two countries as well as the people of Romania and Viet Nam.”

    With a diplomatic tie of nearly 70 years, Romania and Viet Nam has been mutually developed in many fields. The history between the 2 countries witnessed many agreements on legality, education, science, technology and broadcasting business. As of now, Viet Nam is one of the most crucial economic partners of Romania in ASEAN region. Vice versa, Romania has long been a traditional and cultural friend nation to Viet Nam in the Middle East – East European region. Commercial trading between countries are growing exponentially in recent years.
