Through the night, she confessed her passion for the traditional ao dai of Viet Nam. In many official events with high officers from different countries, she never missed any chances to present this national treasure to friends around the world.
“I think this year program is very diverse, delivering many great messages in a very complete way. Our ao dai, honestly, is a very versatile piece of outfit. We can see ao dai everywhere in many occasions from our daily lives, to formal events, in school, or even just hanging out with friends.
About the festival, I have to say, there aren't many cultural events like this that is able to bring such feelings and memories to us as deeply as this one. I think every performance here is just so relatable, almost as if they are slices of our normal lives. My dearest moment was when the students of Trung Vuong high school came on stage with the simplest white ao dai. It touched my heart in a special way, bringing tears to my eyes when memories of my student time rushed back in my head. Another moment that I love was when they had a traditional wedding with decorated coconut leaves, and the image of the ao dai at center, simple and touching. I just want to congratulate the city to have such a wonderful and successful event like this”.
The Ao Dai Festival of Ho Chi Minh City is an annual event, starting in 2014, with an aim to preserve and induce the cultural values of ao dai, the proudly Vietnamese traditional dress, generating the public’s awareness and passion for this piece of clothing. This year program with theme of The Grace in our Ao Dai wanted to celebrate the presence of Ao dai in our daily lives and deliver the message “I love ao dai Viet Nam”.
